On the cusp of becoming the first African-American to capture a major party nomination, Barack Obama remains a protean political figure, inspiring devotion in supporters who see him as a transformative leader even as he remains inscrutable to critics.

How do you spend 20 years in the congregation of a church, have the pastor as your spiritual adviser and claim to not know his message. Then being the piece of work you are, you denounce your spiritual adviser for political gain. Sinking to any depth for political gain. God help us if this is what our Country wants!

You can say that again as loud as you can! Obama hasn't accomplished anything in public life to justify or even imply he is worthy of leading our nation. Further his associations over the years with people who are more than highly suspect without Obama's explanation is telling to say the least! More hidden issues surrounding his life and what he really stands for will be exposed in the coming months leading up to the election...let's see how calmly he handles that! His voice box is the New York Times lead by left wing zealots who spin the news for the radical left every day...maybe that's why their entire circulation base has dropped almost equal to the rag tabloid, The New York Post...the slide in their historic business is also telling as well!

swirl of history? more like the haze of tranqs. After all this time, with Obama being carried on the shoulders of the press and Clinton being kicked like a cur; they both must feel drained. This heated atmosphere will continue to storm like the thunder boomers on the great plains. After all the abuse Obama supporters are going to have to eat their slimy words. (diabolic I used Bill "words") Many were deeply offended. It's not race but the Obama"s supporters calumny. A single minded attempt to destroy a good women. Obama's surrogates are limp.

At this moment Barack is meeting with Hillary at her home in Washington. They have been meeting for a couple hours. He left the press on his plane. So no press around.

Obama is NOT a moderate. He is not even that progressive. IF he is elected, there are so many pieces of legislation based on re-engineering the society of the United States that will pass. And none of it will be good. An Obama presidency will even further coarsen the dialogue and it will end up in a Republican landslide in 2-and in 4 years. The other interesting thing that will happen is that this generation of so-called savvy voters that will elect this guy, who are moderate, progressive, liberal; in 4 years, will look more conservative than what Jimmy Carter wrought. In fact, Obama will make Carter's presidency look good in comparison. And, I know everyone does not want to admit this... IF Obama is elected, it will be for only one reason and that will NOT be because he is the best choice.

It's good that the racial gap is narrowing. But the gender gap is just a big as before. I have spent my entire career fighting the gender gap while being the main bread winner. Now it seems all my past efforts and hopes have gotten no where and women are still on the bottom of the human totem poll. Very depressing.

that started with demonstrations in my life time. Unfortunately, they assume their awareness of the environment is shared. We seem to be locked into an aging perception of reality.

Do you think when rev wright was christening barack husein obamas child the rev would have ever thought he would be sold for votes! Nothing will be let go, and everthing possible will be exposed!

The DNC just confirmed that they cannot be trusted. I have never seen so much disorientation in a party as the Democrates.

Two years ago we gave them a chance to do something, yet they did nothing. I was always a Republican but thought Hillary would be good. It turned out that I was wrong. I just went on line and re-registered an a Republican and will be voting for John McCain.

It is easy to re-register. Most states will allow you to do it on line. If you vote Democrate you will find that they will run our Country into the ground. I suggest that you vote for John McCain and for all Republicans. The Democrates have done nothing but play games. Our Country is not a game.

We all think Osama is lower the the lowest life form, but comparing Osama to Clinton? That's just harsh and so mean, what did Clinton do to deserve to be so low as to be compared to Osama? I mean i am not a great fan but that insult was just... ouch.

Between both of them they cover the entire nation - Colored Man and White Woman. This team can undoubtedly effect the necessary change that this great country needs badly and bring forth relief for the majority of the Americans who are suffering so gravely in an economy that has been so pooly managed over the past 8 years. However, they have to face stiff opposition against not just John McCain - but the entire GOP Machinery, the Rich and Powerful Corporations, the Media which is controlled mainly by the GOP supporters, the Racist inciters, the extremist Religious Groups - and last but not the least, the notorious Voting Machines that certain States may be using for the elections. This nation needs Strong and Energetic Leaders not "Dead Ducks" !

There is no way you can attend a church for decades, and then say you never heard the man preach the way he did. That is not logical, nor thruthful. I really don't want a president who calls themselves "(fill in the blank) American". If you really want to connect with people of this country, you should consider yourself American first and foremost. What it really comes down to, is that no matter who ends up president, we'll still be at the mercy of the oil companies, and health insurance industry. This country will continue it's downward sprial. For the first time in 32 years, I probably won't bother to vote.

However, I believe it's possible to say a bunch of amens and still not abide by what the preacher said. Otherwise, how would we explain all the folks, black and white, who go to church every Sunday then commit adultery, lie, cheat, etc., (Clinton, Clinton, Clinton, Bill that is)?

He is then half white and half black. That being said, he surely cannot refer to himself as the first white/black presidential candidate. How about, oh, I don't know, maybe just not refer to his color, or his ethnicity at all. I don't hear McCain referring to himself as a white American, or European-American or Scottish, or English or Irish, ad nauseum. Isn't the racial divide big enough already? I was under the impression that Obama, et.al., were trying to move away from the color and ethnic stereotypes, yet, here we are, once again, talking about the first black, or African-American (or whatever the blacks are calling themselves these days), etc. It would behoove Obama to simply refer to himself as the Senator from Illinois, who had an interesting upbringing, a good education, and now wants to be president.

If you get a chance look @ your local Media. Look @ MSNBC.com and I'll give you .05 cent for every time race has been mention. It's still the mindset of White American that can't or will not allow Obama to forget this race and from which he comes from. OH and by the way Blacks are still calling themselves.. "BLACK" but other still seems to have a drifferent name for us in the normal household conversations....
